The Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg “Ruperto Carola, Heidelberg University, or simply Heidelberg” is a public research university situated in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was founded in 1386. University of Heidelberg is an oldest university in Germany and was 4th university established in the Holy Roman Empire. It is a coeducational institution since 1899. Today Heidelberg has 12th faculties and offers several degree programs at undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels in some 100 disciplines. It is a German Excellence University, as well as a founding member of the League of European Research Universities, the Coimbra Group, and the European University Association.
